Fandom 250: Do Real Madrid or Barcelona have better fans?

Fandom 250 will decide who wins the fan version of El Clasico

Everyone understands that Real Madrid and Barcelona are two of the most talented football clubs in the world. Their epic clashes on the pitch are the stuff of legends. Sometimes, the brilliant talent on the field overshadows the world-class support each fan base provides their club.

Fandom 250 is here to show appreciation for the world’s top fan bases. Both clubs have been nominated in the world’s top 250 fan bases, but we won’t know who comes out until the final results are announced on December 6th.

There’s no sense in waiting until December to start the debate though. Playing for 90 will certainly weigh in on the issue for you now. In our estimation, Barcelona fans deserve the advantage over their La Liga rivals.

We’re talking about very fine margins here, but there’s just a more genuine feel about the Barca supporters. Real Madrid still strike me as the new kid on the block in some respects. Certainly, fans of Zinedine Zidane’s club will bristle at that assertion, but it’s the way this impartial observer views the rivalry.

Perhaps Barcelona feels to be a more genuine fan base because of the great sense of pride their fans take in their academy. Real Madrid fans deserve credit for welcoming foreign stars into the fold with open arms, Barca prefer their homegrown players. Both approaches get amazing talent for both clubs, but Barcelona fans get the opportunity to forge longer relationships with their stars.

Let us know which fan base you feel have the better fans. You can register your opinion below or stoke the debate on social media using the hashtag #Fandom250.
