Tottenham officially mired in transfer drama with Harry Kane
Perhaps the biggest transfer saga of this summer has official gotten underway as Harry Kane has failed to show up to preseason training with Tottenham.
According to The Guardian, the England striker was due to arrive in order to get a number of tests done including Covid-19 and for fitness levels. He was a no-show as he is angling for a move away from the North London club.

ESPN are reporting Kane believes he has a gentleman’s agreement with Spurs’ chairman Daniel Levy. An agreement that would see the club listen to potential offers. As has been demonstrated in the past, Levy is not the easiest negotiator.
So it should come to no surprise the chairman does not see things the same way as Kane.
Tottenham value Kane at £150 million and even for Manchester City — a side linked with the striker — it is an amount they simply cannot afford. In fact, City reportedly made a bid of around £100 million rejected a month earlier only to said bid rejected.
Whether or not holding out will work for Kane remains to be seen. He has a contract until 2024 and from Levy’s point of view, they are under no obligation to sell.
Kane is not the first player to hold out of training in order to seal a move away and he won’t be the last.
His ambitions seems to be to win trophies and be on a team with Champions League aspirations. At the moment, Tottenham are not that team. Following a tumultuous run with Jose Mourinho as manager, their future is unclear.
They spent a large chunk of the offseason trying to find a managerial replacement with a number of options on their list turning them down. They finally had to settle for former Wolves manager Nuno Espírito Santo.
Spurs are in a bit of a weird place with their squad as well and given how further along some of the teams ahead of them are, Kane might not want to be part of a soft rebuild. The 28-year-old is entering the prime of his career and wants to be somewhere he can win silverware.
The season for Spurs starts in two weeks, funnily enough, against Manchester City. Kane could still be sat our or be on the other side facing his old club.
