A new report from The Daily Mail claims that Manchester United have set a £12m asking price for clubs interested in securing the services of their experienced centre-back. So far, West Ham and Newcastle United are two teams that are prepared to offer Jones a lifeline to continue his career in the top flight.
Seeing that Jones has only made two league appearances for Manchester United this season, one can assume that he is fervently looking to leave for regular minutes as a starter. In addition, the fact that Manchester United have set their price for Jones is a major hint that they will not be interested in listening to loan offers.
When looking at the defenders at both West Ham and Newcastle United, Jones’ best bet to play regular minutes is for the Hammers. The Magpies have quality competition on the back-line, but the same cannot be said for West Ham as they have been a relegation-threatened team all season.
