Chelsea could finally land USMNT wonder-kid Christian Pulisic

Chelsea has been looking into signing Christian Pulisic of Borussia Dortmund and the USMNT for some time now, but it could be complete in January.

Christian Pulisic is considered to be a God in the States. He is seen to be the next big thing for the USMNT, and if the side has any hopes, then Pulisic is the answer. However, he has been struggling for game time lately, so a move elsewhere could be perfect for him. Luckily, Chelsea is still sniffing around his situation.

That’s right, according to the Daily Mail, the Blues will be looking to finalise a deal by January. Even Maurizio Sarri is keen on signing the starlet. Working with the Italian boss will do wonders for him in his career, as Sarri is infamous for getting the best out of young prodigies.

Is this the right move for Chelsea?

In short, yes. Christian Pulisic is a versatile player, so Sarri can utilise him anyway. He is mostly used out on the right, which is good for Chelsea because nobody is taking Hazard’s place out on the left-hand side. Should Chelsea deploy a switch of system, which doesn’t seem likely, then he could also play through the centre.

He will arrive with great expectation, and it will also work wonders for Chelsea on a marketing front. The American soccer fans will be keeping track of how their starlet is doing, so they will be tuning into the Chelsea matches each week for sure.

What does this move mean for Willian?

This move could signify the end of Willian’s reign at Chelsea. It’s been rumoured for some time now that he would join Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, so signing Pulisic would surely mean farewell for Willian. I doubt many Chelsea fans will lose sleep over this, as they will be getting a much better and younger player in Pulisic.

Pulisic is the ideal replacement for Willian. He has a lot more to give, and he’s only going to be more fired up should Borussia Dortmund choose to sell him.

Pulisic was a standout player in the USMNT’s friendly loss to England lately. He could have scored, but it was denied. He did what he usually does, which is drive the ball forward and encourage his teammates to do the same, however it wasn’t to be for the USA side.
