Brazil superstar offered chance to return to old club

After successfully captaining his Brazil side to the Copa America title, Dani Alves became the first footballer ever to win 40 trophies. Still going strong at 36 years of age and giving solid performances in each and every game of the Copa America, the Brazilian veteran proved that he is far from finished and can still produce some very high level performances.

Dani Alves recently announced that he would be leaving PSG after enjoying two trophy laden seasons at the French capital which means that he would be on the lookout for a new club. The right back had a decent season at PSG where he scored 3 goals and assisted 8 in all competitions last year. The player, who was busy leading his team further into the Copa America when he announced his departure from PSG, said that he won’t be making a decision on his future until the end of the tournament.

Dani Alves, now without a club, is a free agent and he might have offers from a few clubs on the table, especially after his brilliant display for his country. As per Football Espana, FC Barcelona may be willing to offer the right back a contract. The Brazilian could link up on the right flank of the Catalonia club with Lionel Messi once again. While at Barcelona, the Brazilian helped the club to 6 La Liga titles, 4 Spanish Super cups and Copa Del Reys, 3 UEFA Cahmpions Leauge titles, 3 UEFA Super Cups and 3 FIFA Club World Cups.

Alves also reportedly has an offer from Atletico Madrid who seem to want to have a player like him after they lost Juanfran, who is now a free agent too and Lucas Hernandez, who joined Bayern Munich for £72 million. The club also face a possible departure from left back Filipe Luis. After club captain Diego Godin decided to switch to Inter Milan, Atletico lack a player who can command the team from the back and therefore getting Alves to sign for them would help Diego Simeone’s men a great deal.

Rumors of Alves’ former club Sevilla wanting to secure his services are also doing the rounds and there could be a possibility that Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City make an attempt to sign the Brazilian. Man City were favorites to sign Dani Alves, until he decided to opt for Paris Saint-Germain instead. However, if Ernesto Valverde offers Alves a contract, he would undoubtedly head back to Barcelona, given the success he enjoyed at the club earlier in his career.

Will Alves play for FC Barcelona next season and help them win their third league title in a row and win his 41st trophy at his former club?
