Paris Saint-Germain consider transfer for Spanish winger

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly developed interest in bringing  Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez to the Parc des Prince this summer. This comes amid reports of Neymar wanting to head back to FC Barcelona after a two-year stint in the French Capital.

Vazquez has been prolific for Real Madrid over the years and has proved his worth at the Santiago Bernabeu and is one of the most versatile players in Los Blancos’ squad. Paris Saint-Germain on the other hand have failed, despite spending billions, to make an impact in European Football, being knocked out of the UEFA Champions League once again last season by Manchester United despite having a two goal lead.

The Parisians need to have a more balanced squad and spend more meticulously to improve bottlenecks in their squad. Thomas Tuchel did a considerably good job in his first season but they only won two domestic trophies which saw their domestic dominance being slightly diminished. This is where Lucas Vazquez would fit in perfectly. Being able to play as a right midfielder or a winger, the Spaniard adds to the abundant creativity present within the team and would help to balance out the squad in terms of natural playing positions.

PSG’s signing of Pablo Sarabia from Sevilla FC and the imminent arrival of Ander Herrera on a free transfer from Manchester United, give an insight that new Sporting Director and former PSG player Leonardo has thought of a more intricate plan to balance out the PSG roster rather than to spend on superstars.

Real Madrid having spent over €300 million and bringing in big name players like Eden Hazard and Luka Jovic, would now be looking to sell a few players in order to balance the books and Vazquez may be one of the players to depart from the club. Having spent his entire footballing career at Los Blancos, apart from one season where he played for Espanyol, the winger is seen as a loyal player by the fans however he has just started 15 La Liga games for the club and is majorly used as a utility player. Thus, the club would be willing to sell him if they receive a tempting offer.

Vazquez wont feel abandoned at PSG even if he signs and communication won’t be a problem due to the presence of his Spanish compatriots and a high number of Spanish-speaking players in their squad.

Would leaving Real Madrid for Paris Saint-Germain be the right move for the Madrid winger?
