Real Madrid identify a position to strengthen in January

Real Madrid has suffered the consequences which were bound to come from losing Cristiano Ronaldo.

Real Madrid has recently started winning again. It took them a while to get their season on track, but the appointment of Santiago Solari has worked wonders for them. Well, perhaps that’s an overstatement because there are still cracks which need to be fixed.

They lost out on Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer, as he completed his shock move to Juventus. Nobody expected it to happen but it did and Real Madrid failed to strengthen. The goals haven’t been flooding in for them this season, which is strange for the fans to say the least.

That said, it comes as no surprise that Los Blancos will look to sign a striker in January. According to Express, the Spanish capital has lost faith in Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema, but who can blame them? It’s a tough ask to fill the boots of Cristiano Ronaldo, particularly on a goal scoring front.

Karim Benzema recently hit 200 goals for the club but you can’t deny he is getting on a bit. He’s still an immensely talented striker, so it is a bit harsh for Madrid to brush him aside, but they’ve got to do what they’ve got to do.

There are plenty of striking options for Real Madrid.

Madrid isn’t lacking options on the market. Recent news suggested they could pursue a move for either Kylian Mbappe or Neymar, should PSG be forced to sell either of them. Those are obviously dream scenarios so it’s important to be realistic.

Radamel Falcao is a very realistic option, according to Express. AS Monaco sit right near the bottom of Ligue 1 so he’s obviously growing frustrated with his surroundings. I don’t need to tell you how talented Falcao is, and he’ll surely give Madrid the boost they need.

Another option from Express includes Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Ibrahimovic is one of the oldest strikers out there currently, but his talent will never fade. He could be available on a short loan as Los Angeles Galaxy recuperate for the next MLS season.

Who do you think Real Madrid will sign to get their attack ticking?
