Barcelona prepare lucrative contract offer for Adrien Rabiot

It looks like PSG’s Adrien Rabiot will be leaving the club at the expiry of his contract and Barcelona are ready to take full advantage of it.

Barcelona have been looking at Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot since a long while and their interest in the 23-year-old only grew once Andres Iniesta departed the Camp Nou. On a short-term basis, Arturo Vidal was signed, but the Catalans are now relooking into Rabiot’s matter in France.

The France international was not part of the World Cup winning squad earlier this summer but is one of the most budding midfielders in the world. Rabiot’s passing and attacking threat makes him and Barcelona a match made in heaven and things could take an advanced step very soon.

Adrien Rabiot’s contract at the Parc de Princes expires on June 30, 2019 and he has been stalling on a renewal in spite of Paris Saint-Germain offering him several contracts. As per the Bleacher Report, Rabiot’s agent, his mother, has been in touch with Barcelona’s officials and is keen on seeing her son play in the La Liga.

Barcelona surely cannot compare themselves with Paris Saint-Germain as far as their finances are concerned given that the French giants have a lot of money coming in from Qatar. But the Catalans surely can boast about being one of the world’s best clubs and far ahead of their French counterparts.

The wage does not seem to be a big problem for Adrien Rabiot, but Barcelona are preparing an expensive contract for him in order to lure him from France’s capital. As per reports, the Catalans are ready to fork out as much as 10 million euros annually for the services of the midfielder.

Adrien Rabiot’s contract at Paris Saint-Germain expires in June 2019 and the fact that he has not renewed with the French giants means that he can discuss terms with other clubs starting from January. Barcelona are looking to take advantage of his situation and add to their wealthy midfield. What’s better for them is that they will be able to sign Rabiot for no transfer fee.

Signing Adrien Rabiot on a free transfer should be an absolute no-brainer from Barcelona after they have been monitoring him for so many years. Originally a central midfielder, the 23-year-old can play in Sergio Busquets’ and Ivan Rakitic’s roles. Now that both the players are 30, Rabiot can start being a gradual replacement or probably even replace Arthur Melo in the central area of the park.

Who should Barcelona sacrifice in order to make way for Adrien Rabiot?
