It’s time for Juve to make a statement.
Juventus looked absolutely horrible against Frosinone on Sunday. A home match against Bologna should provide Juve with another chance to play their way into top form before the big match against Napoli next weekend.
Bologna is another team that Juventus shouldn’t have too much trouble earning 3 points against. In their first 4 matches Bologna had 1 draw and 3 losses and didn’t score a goal. Their 5th match went much better as they beat Roma at home (although that may have been mostly due to Roma’s issues to start the season).
Juve comes into this match as one of only 3 teams in the top 5 leagues not to have dropped a point yet in any competition. They’re 5 for 5 in Serie A and impressively won their first Champions League match of the year last Wednesday at Valencia. However, their follow up performance was abysmal.
On Satruday, Juve looked absolutely terrible against Frosinone, lacking any creativity for most of the match and needing some luck to score both of their goals. It was extremely disappointing and leaves them in an awkward position for this match against Bologna. They need to rotate some of their usual starters to prepare for Saturday’s match against Napoli, but could also really use a more impressive performance leading into that matchup.
We’ll most likely see a lineup that falls somewhere between those two needs.
Juve having to make a tough decision with every match</a>. Massimiliano Allegri will give him every opportunity possible to get it together this season, but this trend is becoming troubling for him. If there were ever a time to break his slump it would be a home match against Bologna.</p><div class="widget fs_ads"> <div class="fs_ad_widget-ad" style="margin:0 auto; width: 300px;"> <div class="fs-ll-ad" data-ad-type="minutemedia_slideshow_inline_300x250__desktop__tablet" data-vendor="minutemedia">

<p>Cristiano Ronaldo has quickly turned things around after a tough early start to the season. He has now scored 3 goals in Juve’s last 2 league matches. His goal against Frosinone rescued Juve from an unbelievably embarrassing draw. As expected he has been Juve’s most dangerous attacking player this season. A goal against Bologna would continue his upward trend and would be a fantastic sign heading into the Napoli match. Juve will need Ronaldo to be at his absolute best against Napoli and another impressive performance on Wednesday would help with that.</p>
<h3>RW: Federico Bernardeschi</h3>
<p>Federico Bernardeschi has repeatedly rewarded Allegri every time he has played Bernardeschi this season. He has been a constant threat on the wing this year and has managed to supply a couple of late goals for Juve, including the winner in the opener. With Douglas Costa both suspended and injured right now we can expect to see Bernardeschi consistently receive this starting spot as he is flat out better than Cuadrado. He is a promising young player for Juve and his emergence gives them yet another attacking option that they can start whenever they want.</p>

<p>If Bernardeschi plays against Bologna like he has all year then he will be one step closer to permanently taking this job from Costa.</p><!—pageview_candidate—></p>">
