Chelsea aiming to bring this ex-Tottenham star back to London

Thomas Tuchel is already getting hard at work behind the scenes at Chelsea as he wishes to build on from the seemingly positive transfer window they had last summer. They signed Kai Havertz and Timo Werner, both of which must make the most of working under Tuchel as they have been subpar thusfar.

Chelsea are going through a period of mixed form as they currently reside in fifth place of the Premier League table. However, the early signs are that Tuchel is the right man for the job and he is certainly more promising than Frank Lampard was showing to be.

Having made some right decisions already, why would the Chelsea board not judge the manager’s judgement? That being said, they didn’t have much chance to give him the January transfer window he would’ve wanted considering he was appointed late in the month of January.

Rumour has it, Tuchel wishes to sign a player that Chelsea fans will have plenty of experience with, but for all the wrong reasons. According to Calciomercato, the Blues are planning to sign Christian Eriksen from Inter Milan with Jorginho potentially going the other way.

This is obviously a win-win for Thomas Tuchel as he will be disposing of a player that he has no plans to use while getting a cut=price deal of a world-class player in return. The best thing about Eriksen, and I hate to bring out this age-old cliche, is that he’s Premier League proven.

Eriksen would come in and provide to Chelsea everything that Havertz was signed to do. He would be the main dictator of play and act as the sole creator to a hopefully improved Werner. That’s not to mention his unfathomable free kick ability.

Do you think Chelsea are in the right frame of mind by signing Christian Eriksen?
