Chelsea definitely stand a chance of competing for the Premier League title next season.
This season was somewhat of a write-off for the neutral Premier League fan. Liverpool dominated the entirety of the season and it never looked likely that anyone would challenge them. Even Manchester City, who were the closest bet, were a long way away.
This may sound like blasphemy coming from an Arsenal fan, but my prediction for next season is that Chelsea will win the Premier League title. But hear me out, as I have compiled the five main reasons behind my thought process:
1. The spending power
It seems unfair to predict the outcome of next season already considering this season is yet to finish and the summer transfer window has not yet commenced. However, I do believe that Chelsea will have the strongest transfer window of any Premier League side.
They have already invested money into bringing Timo Werner to the club and this is largely down to the capital the club saved during their transfer ban last time out. Given the implications of the Coronavirus, their recent ban now seems like a blessing in disguise since they have more money accumulated to get an edge over their closest Premier League competitors.
More on that next.
World Football Index</a> recently where he accurately pinpointed the difference between <a href=https://playingfor90.com/2020/07/23/5-reasons-chelsea-challenge-title-next/"https://fbref.com/en/players/268df6b1/Frank-Lampard?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-%22 target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Frank Lampard</a> and his predecessors. He claimed that Lampard actually wants to be at the club since he feels a connection from his playing days.</p>
<p>This is what frightens me the most about Chelsea, it’s not their sheer spending power, but it’s the amount of passion that goes into the club, which is a rarity in the industrialised nature of the game. Lampard wants to see this club succeed, not for his bank account but because he is genuinely a fan of the club.</p>
<p>This will surely be seen heading into the new season and in a new decade.</p>

<h3>5. This season was a bridge for Lampard</h3>
<p>Now that Lampard has a full season as Chelsea boss under his belt, he is beginning to secure his knowledge on certain players. While he is known to still be ruthless in his selection, he has gazed what works and what doesn’t work.</p>
<p>This knowledge will certainly be cemented in the new season and indeed in the transfer window. While Maurizio Sarri and <a href=https://playingfor90.com/2020/07/23/5-reasons-chelsea-challenge-title-next/"https://fbref.com/en/players/6d3e0d09/Antonio-Conte?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-%22 target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Antonio Conte</a> didn’t need much time to settle into life at Chelsea, it was always going to require time for Lampard. After all, this is the first time he’s managed in any top-flight since his experience with Derby was very limited.</p>
