Contrary to popular belief, Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is not irreplaceable…
The summer transfer window is still going ahead, we are led to believe. What the implication of the coronavirus has on the setup remains to be seen but one thing’s for sure, clubs need to be prepared. Especially those like Arsenal, who were hit early on by the pandemic.
There are a few problems which need to be addressed but the main situation seems to be that of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. If he leaves the club, then a marquee replacement would need to be bought in to replace his exuberant goal scoring talents. Here are my three options…
1. Thomas Lemar (Atletico Madrid)
Thomas Lemar is no stranger to Arsenal fans. Having been linked with the club many times in the past, most notably under Arsene Wenger, he is bound to be a topic of discussion again in the summer.
Lemar would be the ideal candidate if Arsenal were to look for a replacement out wide, which wouldn’t surprise me since this is where Aubameyang has been forced to play throughout most of this season.
Lemar is unlike Aubameyang in that he is much more creative than direct. He likes to involve his teammates in the game which would likely bring the best out of Alexandre Lacazette. Lemar and Lacazette know each other very well as they have worked together in the French national team, so it seems like a productive move to make.

<h3>2. Moussa Dembele (Lyon)</h3>
<p>Arsenal profited from Lyon last time out as they have felt the fruitful rewards of signing Alexandre Lacazette. However, they may need to turn to the French side for help yet again should they require a replacement for Aubameyang.</p>
<p><a href=https://playingfor90.com/2020/04/04/arsenal-options-replace-aubameyang/"https://fbref.com/en/players/e7986081/Moussa-Dembele?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-%22>Moussa Dembele</a> seems to be an option for most European sides this summer so he would be a little less realistic, but still a good option for the Gunners to have. The former Celtic man ages at 23 years old and he is one of the top emerging talents in Europe.</p>
<p>He is a forward that prides himself on his ability to involve his fellow attackers in the game, a trait which Arsenal would surely miss if they lost Aubameyang. Dembele is also very agile and he shows great aplomb in front of goal, something to consider since this is a trait which seems to be missing in Lacazette.</p>
<p>Dembele is a top transfer target for Chelsea and <a href=https://playingfor90.com/2020/04/04/arsenal-options-replace-aubameyang/"https://fbref.com/en/players/268df6b1/Frank-Lampard?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-%22 target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Frank Lampard</a>. That said, Arsenal would need to pay over the odds if they were to sign the Frenchman since it looks more likely the Blues will qualify for the Champions League.</p>

<h3>3. Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal)</h3>
<p>The last option I’m going to present is one that, unless you’ve been living under a rock, should be familiar to Arsenal fans. I am of course talking about their very own prodigy Gabriel Martinelli.</p>
<p>The young Brazilian attacker emerged onto the scene this season, relatively early on after he was signed. He first made a name for himself in cup competitions, as whenever he featured he tended to score a goal or two. He has even scored against the big dogs in Liverpool and Chelsea this season.</p>
<p>Martinelli is a very fast player that, like Aubameyangm is versatile in playing both centrally and out wide. Martinelli is a skilful player and he can also be creative when he wants to be. However, his undeniable trait is his coolness in front of goal. He just seems to get it right each and every time.</p>
<p>Martinelli ages at only 18 years old which is hard to believe because at times this season, he has looked like the maturest on the pitch.</p>
<p>The Arsenal board may feel like they don’t need to hunt for an Aubameyang replacement since they already have one in Martinelli, in which case I would agree with them. Wow, I never thought I’d be saying that. Excuse me while I go and rinse my mouth out with soap.</p>
