Contrary to popular belief, Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is not irreplaceable…

The summer transfer window is still going ahead, we are led to believe. What the implication of the coronavirus has on the setup remains to be seen but one thing’s for sure, clubs need to be prepared. Especially those like Arsenal, who were hit early on by the pandemic.

There are a few problems which need to be addressed but the main situation seems to be that of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. If he leaves the club, then a marquee replacement would need to be bought in to replace his exuberant goal scoring talents. Here are my three options…

1. Thomas Lemar (Atletico Madrid)

Thomas Lemar is no stranger to Arsenal fans. Having been linked with the club many times in the past, most notably under Arsene Wenger, he is bound to be a topic of discussion again in the summer.

Lemar would be the ideal candidate if Arsenal were to look for a replacement out wide, which wouldn’t surprise me since this is where Aubameyang has been forced to play throughout most of this season.

Lemar is unlike Aubameyang in that he is much more creative than direct. He likes to involve his teammates in the game which would likely bring the best out of Alexandre Lacazette. Lemar and Lacazette know each other very well as they have worked together in the French national team, so it seems like a productive move to make.
