After three months, Manchester United’s first match after the pause in play is only days away. Five players are most likely to benefit from the restart.

The Red Devils went into the unplanned break on a roll. They had an 11 match unbeaten run, including wins in the Top Flight, the FA Cup, and the Europa League.

The transfer of Bruno Fernandes had given the squad an electric charge, and the loud cries for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s sacking died to a whisper.

Despite the run in form, Man U is still chasing the coveted Champions League slot. As play resumes, they are fifth in the league, trailing an inconsistent Chelsea by three points. They are also still alive in both the domestic cup and Europa League competitions.

One of the biggest challenges that Solskjaer faced during the season was the significant number of injuries to key players throughout the season. To put it merely, Ole had not been able to put out his best line-up for most of the campaign.

As they say (and I dislike cliches, but it fits), time does heal all wounds. The three-month break in action as put United in a position where these players can come back and contribute.

Here are the five players who will benefit the most.
