Manchester United striker agrees to personal terms with Inter Milan

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, The Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has agreed to terms at the San Siro, receiving 6.6 million euros in bonuses until 2024.

There has been tons of speculation about Romelu Lukaku leaving Manchester United and it looks like it’s finally going to happen. Lukaku looks well on his way to Inter Milan, although United haven’t agreed to a deal with Inter yet even though the player himself has agreed on terms.

The former Everton standout came to Old Trafford for 75 million euros two years ago, bagging 27 goals in his first year under Jose Mourinho. This past season though under Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, he really struggled, scoring just 15 goals throughout all competitions, eventually losing his starting spot up front to Marcus Rashford.

Lukaku is keen on a move to the Serie A, especially after former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte was just named the new manager for Inter Milan.

“It’s good to see Conte joined Inter, for me he is the best manager in the world”

He also went on to say in the same interview that he’s already made the decision about his future, it’s just a matter of agreeing with Manchester United on a transfer fee.

“I’ve already made a decision about the future but I can’t reveal it because I have a contract with Manchester United and because I respect the club.”

Even though the Red Devils received Lukaku from Everton for 75 million euros, they are expected to want a fee of around 62 million to let the Belgian go, which shouldn’t be a problem for Conte’s side.

Frankly, his time is up in England. He’s played in the Premier League for the majority of his career and it’s time to face a new challenge in Italy. He also voiced in the same interview that he has always been a big fan of the Serie A, and with Cristiano Ronaldo also playing there now, it’s even more enticing for him.

If Mauro Icardi ends up staying with Inter as well, he and Lukaku could form a deadly partnership up top for the Italian side. There have been talks about Icardi being involved in a possible swap with Juventus for Paulo Dybala, so we’ll have to see how that plays out.

It’s pretty clear that Lukaku wants out of Manchester United, so at this point, I don’t see any possible way he stays at Old Trafford. It’s time for them to bring in some fresh talent and with the money from Lukaku’s proposed transfer to Italy, they can work at bringing in a new striker to pair with Rashford next season.
