3. Milot Rashica
The 23-year old Kosovo International joined Werder Bremen in January of 2018 from Dutch side Vitesse and has fit nicely into their attack. In 30 appearances last term, he bagged 12 goals. This season before COVID-19 came along, he already scored ten times in just 19 matches. Rashica usually plays out wide in a front three of a 4-3-3 formation, similar to how Klopp deploys his squad. But the youngster can also play as an attacking midfielder, a versatility that could come in handy if he were to make a move to Anfield.
With the Reds lethal front three of Salah-Mane-Firmino, it would be difficult for Rashica to get minutes with the English giants. But with the ability to play as a number ten, there could be some opportunities. At just 5 foot 8, he’s not the biggest of players but his small stature and exceptional pace allow him to beat oppositions on a consistent basis. Rashica is gifted with wonderful feet and the ability to finish from all across the final third. He’s also an impressive playmaker, having tallied eleven assists in the last two seasons.
The fact that Rashica was able to put forward solid performances this term for Bremen while they immensely struggled speaks to his character and talent as a player. Klopp loves Bundesliga talents as well, having coached in his homeland for many years before coming to England. Rashica would cost just 33 million euros right now, but with Bremen probably getting relegated, he could be even cheaper for Liverpool.
He has all the necessary attributes to excel in the Premier League and under Klopp, he could develop and grow even more in the coming years. He’s not Jadon Sancho, but Milot Rashica is a special talent who could definitely strengthen the Reds attack.
Jadon Sancho is arguably the hottest name on the market for this summer’s transfer window after a brilliant two seasons in the Bundesliga. In 90 appearances for Dortmund, the 19-year old has already bagged 31 goals and also tallied an outstanding 42 assists.

The Red Devils and the Merseysiders have been the two clubs that are constantly linked to the English winger, but it’s looking more likely that Man United are willing to fork out the 100 million euros price tag that Dortmund is asking for their teen prodigy.

Jurgen Klopp is a huge fan of Sancho and his potential is limitless considering he’s still so young, but with an electric front three already, it wouldn’t make sense for the Reds to spend such a hefty amount on Sancho at the moment.

With that in mind, there are numerous other options for Klopp’s side this summer. Leipzig standout <a href=https://playingfor90.com/2020/04/14/liverpool-fc-3-alternatives-jadon-sancho/2/"https://fbref.com/en/players/49fe9070/Timo-Werner?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-%22 target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Timo Werner has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield for several months now and would cost almost half the price that Sancho would.

However, there are other possible alternatives to Dortmund’s star, most notably a young Valencia winger and an underrated Bundesliga attacker.

2. Ferran Torres

The 20-year old came up through Valencia’s academy, making his first-team debut in 2017 at just 17-years old. Now, Torres is a regular starter for <a href=https://playingfor90.com/2020/04/14/liverpool-fc-3-alternatives-jadon-sancho/2/"https://fbref.com/en/players/61796b1f/Albert-Celades?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-%22 target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Albert Celades‘ side, making 25 appearances for Los Che this term, scoring four goals and tallying four assists.

He’s appeared in the starting eleven 20 times as well while also making five starts in Champions League competition. At such a young age, Torres is getting a ton of experience in one of Europe’s top leagues and although his output doesn’t seem outstanding, he’s an exciting young player.

Torres is usually deployed out wide on the right of Valencia’s attack as he loves to use his technicality to take on players and cut inside towards goal. He’s extremely quick and swift with his feet. Although he hasn’t scored a lot, Torres has generated some world-class finishes and could be a serious goal-scorer in the near future.

Liverpool doesn’t have any solid options behind their front three and with talk that Mo Salah could leave for Real Madrid if Los Blancos can’t sign <a href=https://playingfor90.com/2020/04/14/liverpool-fc-3-alternatives-jadon-sancho/2/"https://fbref.com/en/players/42fd9c7f/Kylian-Mbappe?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-%22 target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Kylian Mbappe, Torres could fit in on the right side of Klopp’s attack.

Torres would cost around 50 million euros for Liverpool but at such a young age, he has limitless potential. The Valencia starlet has played meaningful minutes on the Champions League stage as well, so he’s definitely mature beyond his years. Even if Salah does stay with the Reds, Torres would be a player who could definitely see playing time and eventually, be a mainstay at Anfield.

1. Timo Werner

Leipzig’s star striker seems to be Liverpool’s number one target for this summer’s transfer window and it’s looking more likely that he will join the Reds in the coming months here. The 24-year old was lethal in the final third this term, netting 21 goals in 25 Bundesliga matches this term, while also scoring four times in Champions League play.

Werner isn’t the most tactical player, but he is absolutely ruthless in the final third. The German is also a great provider for Leipzig, having set up another nine goals this season. He usually plays centrally for Julian Nagelsmann’s side, but he could also play as a number ten if needed.

Werner’s number one attribute is his speed. He’s arguably one of the fastest players in the Bundesliga and with an impressive physical presence as well, Werner is a forced to be reckoned with in the final third.

Klopp has voiced his admiration of Werner and there is no doubt that he would bolster Liverpool’s attack instantly. The Reds will face stiff competition for Werner, with Chelsea, Manchester United, Juventus, and Inter Milan all interested in the striker, but it seems like the Merseysiders have been the one club who have been heavily linked with him for quite some time now.

Werner has a release clause in his current Leipzig contract which would allow him to leave the club this summer for just 50 million euros.

That’s quite the bargain for such a quality attacker, so it seems like a no-brainer for the Reds. He would definitely give <a href=https://playingfor90.com/2020/04/14/liverpool-fc-3-alternatives-jadon-sancho/2/"https://fbref.com/en/players/4c370d81/Roberto-Firmino?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-%22 target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Roberto Firmino a run for his money as Liverpool’s central striker, but as I said earlier, he could also play a different attacking position.

Werner has been a consistent finisher and playmaker over the last two seasons. It’s definitely time for him to move on from Leipzig and face his next challenge. Liverpool could be the perfect destination.
<!—pageview_candidate—>">
