Liverpool will want to carry the momentum into next season.
Having already secured the Premier League title this season, Jurgen Klopp’s men can take their feet off the pedal and focus on maintaining match fitness ready for next season. This was personified in their match against Manchester City, when the Citizens destroyed the new champions by a scoreline of 4-0.
In this match, while it was treated with a pinch of laziness from Liverpool’s perspective, will have taught Jurgen Klopp a lot about what is needed in his squad going into next season.
With the summer transfer window fast approaching, there has never been a perfect time to analyse. While it is bound to be a strange transfer window and the market will be negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, there are ways which Liverpool can work around this. The prize money of winning the Premier League and even qualifying for the Champions League will serve them well also.
I’m certain that Jurgen Klopp will have already put together a shortlist of his wants and needs for the transfer window. However, it’s always fun when we as football fans predict what could happen.
So, without further ado, here are 4 players that would set Liverpool on a good pedestal to repeat as Premier League champions next season…
Teamtalk reported that Keita is eyeing a move away, for those confused.

The Bayern Munich man appears to be surplus to requirements at Bayern Munich and is eyeing options for a move away this summer. That said, Liverpool could even attempt to persuade the Bavarians with a swap deal, although it’s unknown whether Bayern would be down for this.

Thiago is a great midfielder, who is renowned for his silky footwork and ability to bridge the gap between midfield and attack. That said, he would be perfect to replace Keita.

1. Kalidou Koulibaly

Liverpool has said in the past that they are not interested in signing <a href=https://playingfor90.com/2020/07/05/liverpool-4-signings-klopp-champion/"https://fbref.com/en/players/da974c7b/Kalidou-Koulibaly?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-%22 target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Kalidou Koulibaly but I have one question after watching their abysmal defensive display against City; why on earth not?

I’m sorry, but he is clearly needed. Yes, <a href=https://playingfor90.com/2020/07/05/liverpool-4-signings-klopp-champion/"https://fbref.com/en/players/e06683ca/Virgil-van-Dijk?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-%22 target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Virgil van Dijk is the best defender in the world, there’s no question about that, however, he is surrounded by imbeciles. <a href=https://playingfor90.com/2020/07/05/liverpool-4-signings-klopp-champion/"https://fbref.com/en/players/2e4f5f03/Andrew-Robertson?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-%22 target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Andrew Robertson and <a href=https://playingfor90.com/2020/07/05/liverpool-4-signings-klopp-champion/"https://fbref.com/en/players/cd1acf9d/Trent-Alexander-Arnold?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-%22 target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Trent Alexander-Arnold are some of the best full-backs in the world, so to partner these two and Van Dijk alongside the likes of <a href=https://playingfor90.com/2020/07/05/liverpool-4-signings-klopp-champion/"https://fbref.com/en/players/1a2935f6/Dejan-Lovren?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-%22 target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Dejan Lovren or <a href=https://playingfor90.com/2020/07/05/liverpool-4-signings-klopp-champion/"https://fbref.com/en/players/b217ef29/Joel-Matip?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-%22 target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Joel Matip is ludicrous.

<a href=https://playingfor90.com/2020/07/05/liverpool-4-signings-klopp-champion/"https://fbref.com/en/players/7a11550b/Joe-Gomez?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-%22 target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Joe Gomez is a good candidate and I believe he will be an excellent player in the future, but he is not yet ready. Kalidou Koulibaly would be, and the fact that Manchester City is interested in him should scare Liverpool, like, a lot. If it doesn’t, then they are not serious about mounting a serious title challenge. Defence wins you titles, so to win another one, the Reds must tighten up their backline.
