Sir Alex must summon Fergie Time once more

The sudden news that Sir Alex had suffered an unexpected brain haemorrhage has shocked the footballing world.

A man that has looked unaffected by the process of ageing and still as sharp with his mind as it was 20 years ago when he took Manchester United to the peak of Europe and England, winning the Champions League twice and Premier League a staggering 13 times.

This time he faces the greatest battle of his life, but once again Sir Alex must summon Fergie Time as his great United teams did and crush this condition with the same might that people have associated with the great Scot.

Sir Alex remains the father of modern football in Britain. His United teams were exuberant and feisty. With his guidance he put British football back on the map after the Heysel disaster.

Let’s not forget Fergie’s Fledgelings that showcased the best talents of English football and proved to those in Europe, that Britain still could develop great talents.

When Cannes produced Zidane, United produced Scholes, when Clairefontaine produced Henry, United churned out Beckham. The underlying message is that Sir Alex was the spark that allowed English football to flourish, without Sir Alex, the Premier League would certainly not be as prestigious as it is these days.

The haemorrhage happened out of nowhere, but there have been tell-tale signs of this happening. Sir Alex was fitted with a pacemaker in 2004 after he claimed he had heart irregularity after seeing United lose.

This only emphasise the fact that Sir Alex was such a passionate supporter of Manchester United, the club whom he served well during his lengthy stint.

Lastly, Sir Alex is not a young man, in reality, his achievements and aura have led to him being built as an immortal figure alas probably to the great disappointment of most people is a just a normal human like the rest of us. But he is just possessed with a sharp wit and ability to give people a real lashing.

English football still needs Sir Alex to be its shining beacon, once again he needs to summon Fergie TIme. However, this time instead of him tapping his watch, it’ll be the rest of the world tapping on their watches waiting for him to recuperate and when he does there’ll be tears, laughter and above all joy, feelings exhibited by him whenever his teams scored in Fergie Time.

We wish you a speedy recovery, Sir Alex Ferguson
