Arsenal: The best is yet to come from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Arsenal have just come off the back of a 4-2 win over Leeds United which can only mean one thing… It’s time for us fans to overreact. I mean, what else is there to do, right? It’s not often wins like this come around anymore.

I’m kidding, of course. The lads put on a great display and it was clear to see they had a boost in confidence, we can only hope this continues for as long as possible.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang back to his best for Arsenal

One player made all the difference today and by looking at the scoresheet it’s pretty easy to tell who. I am, of course, talking about the hat-trick hero Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. It’s the first time he’s been able to claim this title in the Premier League, which is a surprise given his immense goal scoring record since signing for the Gunners.

I haven’t seen a performance like that from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang since he signed the bumper contract extension so it really was a relief to see. Not only because it secured Arsenal the win today, but because I feel like this is exactly what the Gabon international needed going forward, a reclaim of his former confidence that was somehow but surely lost.

Aubameyang had some time away from the starting XI in order to be there for his mother for personal reasons. But one thing’s for sure, he would have certainly made her proud by scoring his first Premier League hat trick and securing the 200 goal mark. Family is something that means a lot to Aubameyang, and he embodies this in his captaincy of Arsenal.

Going forward, we as fans can start to expect a lot more from Aubameyang again. For the old saying more often than not rings true; form is temporary, class is permanent. If you didn’t already know or had been living under a rock until today, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang oozes class.
